Description
JOB SUMMARY: Material Handlers perform a combination, tuggers/forklift, of product handling lift truck-operating duties to stack, transport, and store work-in-process and finished goods. Supplies production lines with efficient flow of materials – knockdowns and dividers - and moves finished goods to warehouse.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identifies and transports requested materials to and from various locations including machines, loading docks, trucks, and storage areas.
- Obtains production schedule and/or shipping orders and then identifies, verifies, and transports requested raw materials, equipment, or processing materials accordingly.
- Applies understanding of machine loading capacity and loading schedule, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items.
- Uses protective materials and strapping equipment to protect and secure loads; once delivered, removes strapping and wrapping, then safely disposes of waste materials in designated containers or areas.
- Reports any problems with materials or transportation to supervisor.
- Manages and piles skids, pallets, and other supplies in specified areas.
- Services equipment as needed, reporting mechanical or electrical difficulties to the Supervisor.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
Requirements
- Pay based on experience $18-$20 an hour/
- Prior forklift experience preferred, not required.
- Prior shipping/receiving experience preferred.
- Ability to maintain single-task focus and situational awareness.
- Must be able to move and lift up to 50-pound wooden skid or pallet.
- Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
- Collaborates well with others: proactively contributes to group objectives; volunteers to help others.
- Must be physically able to stand/walk/sit for 8-12 hours per day.
