Description

Under the direction of the Director of Health and Leadership, the Community Architect will provide information about legal services, provide practical supports through facilitation of workshops, assists in filling out forms and advocate for justice involved individuals. They will also foster social support by connecting individuals to community resources to increase their social connections and life affirming practices to build strong, healing communities. 


This position requires the individual to work with the community outreach and education team while taking direction from the community outreach program coordinator. She/he/they must possess great attention to detail and have strong organizational skills. This individual must understand, maintain, and uphold the mission and vision of Erie Neighborhood House.


Position Summary:

  • Attend required educational training/programs. (Train the Trainer, CN Trainings)
  • Commit to volunteer at least 210 hours during fiscal year 2023-2024 
  • Reach at least 250 immigrants through "Know Your Rights" trainings. 
  • Provide “Know Your Rights” educational workshops via various channels (virtual, in-person, events, and educational/vocational settings.)
  • Refer community members for ILA2J legal services.
  • Accompany community members to court and legal proceedings.
  • Provide information on social justice initiatives and legal support services.
  • Outreach to individuals at risk of recidivating to offer help with education and employment and other support services as needed.
  • Assist with organization, facilitation, and follow-up to ensure effective social justice training and workshops.
  • Collaborate presentations and other communications for program/department-related events and activities.
  • Serve as programmatic liaison to external partners, including representing Erie Neighborhood House. 
  • Provides weekly reports on services and activities.
  • Commit to attending ongoing monthly meetings.
  • Not to commit unauthorized legal practice
