From your PASSION to ours
Produce a clean/quality water effluent prior to discharge in the Boise River. Remove waste material, which could create a demand on the receiving stream and possible pollution and/or health hazards. To manage effectively the wastewater treatment operations and staff must be in compliance with NPDES permit and land applications permit. Must follow rules and regulations according to EPA and Idaho Department of Environmental Quality. Responsible for the proper operation of plant and to make sure plant is in compliance with EPA standards.

Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Exercise independent judgment in the evaluation of maintenance problems and makes the appropriate corrections
- Fills out daily Wastewater Control Sheet Reports
- Trains employees on current technology and knowledge of wastewater treatment
- Executes proper procedures of lab analysis by Standard Methods Lab Manuals
- Manages overall staffing plan for the department
- Maintains sanitary septic systems and yearly compliance records
- Assures monthly maintenance is completed and recorded properly
- Presents wastewater information to Safety & Environment Manager in an efficient and effective way
- Performs administrative managerial duties in an accurate, timely, and professional manner. (Phone calls, voice mail, paperwork, scheduling of regular and temporary employees, attends meetings and in-services)
- Maintains open communication with all employees and managers; actively seeks ways to improve employee relations
- Coordinates with the wastewater and maintenance staff any necessary repairs, including making out work orders to be completed when pumps are down
- Organize the team’s output (efficiencies, headcount etc.)
- Plan and schedule manpower consistent with production requirements
- Responsible to ensure that staffing levels are appropriate and the proper complement of trained staff are available
- Propose technical and organizational improvements to line management
- Be involved in trials (machines, products, processes etc.)
Qualified applicants will contribute the following:
Education
- Associate’s degree in environmental control field or equivalent
Experience
- 4 years of operation experience in a class four system or facility
Specialized Knowledge
- Land application permit knowledge
- Great attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret a variety of technical instructions, journals, reports, and document
Professional Certifications
- State of Idaho class four wastewater treatment operator’s license and Wastewater land application permit manager.
