Position Overview:
The Facility Human Resource & Safety Representative is responsible for leading and coordinating the human resource and safety functions across assigned business units. Primary duties include employee relations, attendance tracking, on-boarding new employees, benefits administration, stewarding PIT training program and ensuring company HR and safety programs, policies and practices are being adhered to.
Responsibilities:
· Schedule and conduct new employee orientations to ensure employees gain an understanding of company work policies, benefit plans and enrollment provisions. Counsels employees (and potential employees/applicants) on plan provisions so that individuals can make informed benefit decisions.
· Track and manage temporary employee total hours worked towards full-time and notify DC to ensure a smooth and timely transition from temporary to regular full-time.
· Steward and administer PIT training program at assigned facilities in accordance with program processes and procedures.
· Review/ audit and verify daily time punches correcting discrepancies. Track attendance notifying manager when corrective action is required.
· Steward and administer hourly employee 90 day and annual review policies ensuring that performance reviews accurately reflect performance, are compliant, and completed timely.
· Prepare employee counseling / corrective actions for site management to administer and participate in these conversations.
· Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for termination and ensure that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed.
· Coordinate required OSHA trainings such as safe handling of product, lock-out tag-out,etc.
· Ensure that company communications are posted and up to date.
· Assists in managing the annual employee insurance benefits open enrollment period. Arrange for distribution of materials from carriers, assists with, communicating changes to employees and arranges for on-site representation by providers. May conduct or assist with employee presentations. Processes changes within set deadlines.
· Assist with organizing employee appreciation programs, including birthday and employment anniversary recognitions, employee referrals, service and performance recognition awards, community outreach, and corporate functions.
· Provide data to the Executive Administrative Assistant to maintain the current company organization charts, training/cross training grids for the managers to complete, and Employee Database to include onboarding, company property, terminations, and absenteeism.
· Other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.
· Ensure all records/documents are maintained completely in our payroll ERP system, Paylocity.
Qualifications:
· Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, employee relation, and HRIS systems.
· Knowledge of federal labor laws, statues and acts
· Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures.
· Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
· Knowledge of EHS compliance and regulatory requirements.
· Requires effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
Education Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related degree
· 2-5 years relevant experience in the HR field or any similar combination of education and experience.
