Our 100+ board-certified radiologists provide professional radiology services to 13 bay area hospitals.  This position will be located at our state-of-the-art facility, Magnetic Imaging Affiliates LLC. Located near Berkley and Oakland California. The facility is easily accessible from major Bay Area highways and BART with free onsite parking.


SUMMARY: 

Working under close supervision, the CT Technologist operates computed tomography (CT) scanner to produce cross-sectional images of patient's body for diagnostic purposes to include invasive and non-invasive procedures, as directed by Radiologist. This is a per diem position located at BMMLLC’s Oakland, CA imaging site.   


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES – other duties may be assigned

· Checks and reviews prior films/studies.

· Interviews patient, explains procedures, prepares patient for exam, screens patient for contradictions, and transfers patient to exam area.

· Follows site standard protocol and confers with Radiologist regarding symptoms/findings and protocols.

· Assists patient on and off the examination table. 

· Draws up contrast materials and prepares sterile trays.

· Prepares and administers contrast media and other medications as required under the direction of the Radiologist.

· Assists with injections and ensures patient safety by following all protocols regarding the use of the pressure injector.

· Adjusts and operates CT equipment to scan designated anatomical area of patient.

· Processes images to include, but not limited to, 3-D images.

· Operates all relevant equipment and computer applications.

· Practices safety procedures.

· Maintains and cleans equipment and work area.

· Performs routine quality assurance checks on equipment. 

· Demonstrates age-related protocol in radiographing pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and always use ALARA.

· Ability to work independently.

· Supports a culture to foster positive employee morale, staff engagement as well as staff integration and alignment with BMML operations and organizational goals.

· Properly documents and informs supervisor of all adverse reactions and monitors patient safety and comfort.

· Acts as liaison with referring physician offices through personal interaction with staff and physicians. 

· Complies with Joint Commission and CDPH standards. 


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EXPERIENCE

· Certificate of completion of Radiologic Technology training from an AMA approved institution

· Minimum 1 to 4 years of staff technologist experience.

· Minimum one to six months of staff technologist experience.

· General knowledge of first aid techniques. 

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

· Required upon hire and for duration of employment:

· Current American Registry of Radiologic Technology (RT).

· Current State of California Radiologic Technology certification (CRT).

· Current American Registry of Radiologic Technology Advanced CT certification (CT)

· Current CPR/BLS certificate (Healthcare Provider)

· Advanced Venipuncture Techniques for Contrast Media Administration, within 90 days of hire date


Salary Range: $62.73 - $73.86

This range includes a premium in lieu of benefits. This is an on-call, non-benefitted position.
