JVC is seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial leader who will provide strategic leadership overseeing the Recruitment, Admissions and Program departments in order to grow the organization to meet and exceed strategic plan goals for Jesuit Volunteer growth. Leads on the monitoring and evaluation of our newly adopted strategic plan, supports engagement with the JVC Board of Directors and holds responsibility for special projects. The Senior Director of Program Operations will have three direct reports, manages a team of ten to twelve full-time employees, serves on the management team and reports directly to the president.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee Recruitment, Admissions and Program departments with a total of 10-12 staff responsible for recruiting, screening and      placement of prospective volunteers and support and management of current volunteers to drive growth in the number of Jesuit Volunteers
    • Develop a robust pipeline of current and future prospective JVs that lead to growth
    • Ongoing assessment of JVC’s recruitment and admissions processes and strategies to identify opportunities and efficiencies in how we operate
    • Guide and support program development, implementation and evaluation that promotes a challenging and rewarding JV experience
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing the monitoring and evaluation of JVC’s newly adopted strategic plan. Develops a comprehensive structure for collecting and reporting data for programmatic, fundraising and administrative functions
  • Promotes JVC’s justice, equity, diversity and inclusion works within JVC
  • Represents the organization with funders and other internal and external stakeholder as needed
  • With the Management Team, supports the development of a healthy, thriving organizational culture
  • Other duties as assigned

Throughout this work, the Senior Director for Program Operations promotes JVC’s core values – Ignatian spirituality, simple living, intentional community and social justice - in all engagement and programming. 

Requirements

  

Education and Experience

  • B.A. preferred or equivalent experience, advanced professional certifications a plus.
  • A minimum of seven to ten years experience leading within an organization and providing a transformative experience.  
  • Track record with measurable success in recruiting individuals.  Prior experience recruiting young adults 21-25 is a plus.
  • Proven experience in national site/program management, and delivery. 
  • A minimum of five years overseeing and leading programs at the organizational level and supervising director level staff 
  • Experience working in nonprofit and/or faith-based organizations is preferred
  • Former Jesuit Volunteer is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Proven leadership and management skills to motivate and hold accountable staff in achieving organizational goals and objectives.  Experience in hiring, supervision, assessment, and training of staff 
  • Prior experience recruiting the generation ages 21-25 is a plus.  Build a brand and drive the strategy into actionable steps.
  • Strategic and analytical capabilities to use qualitative and quantitative input in driving organizational learning and success.? 
  • Excellent writing skills and experience with public speaking ability in order to communicate powerfully 
  • Familiarity with JVC and commitment to our overall mission. 
  • Familiarity with Catholic social teaching and Ignatian Spirituality desired
  • Former Jesuit Volunteer is a plus
  • Demonstrated intercultural competency and experience working across cultures
  • Commitment to engage in JVC’s work to advance social and racial equity  
  • Good interpersonal skills and comfort with diverse constituencies 
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team 
  • Flexible with the ability to adjust to changing circumstances 
  • Technical proficiency in a variety of technology tools: Recruiting tools, AI, Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Management/CRM systems, Raiser’s Edge or other Donor management software 
  • Commitment to advancing racial equity by engaging in dialogue and reflection to understand how individual, social and cultural racism manifests itself and the work we need to do individually and as an organization to be anti-racist

Physical Requirements:

To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to:

· Exert minimal physical effort with intermittent movement going from one place to another.

· Withstand prolonged periods of sitting in meetings or at a desk working with a computer.

· Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. 

· Repetitive Motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Required to have close visual acuity to perform extensive work on the computer.

Working Conditions

  • Typical workday of 9am to 5pm 
  • High volume of office work; Hybrid or fully remote office environment, should be familiar with Zoom and TEAMS
  • This position’s work is cyclical with significantly greater workload at certain times.
  • Ability to travel within the U.S.

Salary: $95,000 - $105,000
