The Program Engagement Manager role is aimed at Entry-Level to 3 years of experience and plays an essential role in nurturing our agency's client relationships, while ensuring that projects/accounts operate smoothly and efficiently. The Program Engagement Manager serves as a strategic consultant and is a liaison between the agency and its clients. They are responsible for managing integrated marketing communications projects and keeping clients informed of progress to ensure that they are satisfied with the end product.


The Program Engagement Manager coordinates the activities of the Engagement Team (functional specialists assigned to particular accounts) and takes responsibility for managing and overseeing project deliverables. They may work on one large account or serve as support on multiple accounts.


Key Success Factors:

  • Strong Project Management skills: Effective with time management, strong organization skills, and can adapt to the ever-changing client request. 
  • Solid experience creating and executing integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Preferred agency background that showcases leadership and account management on the accounts they owned/lead.
  • Successfully managed digital projects and have a good understanding of the digital world: You are up to date on the latest of What's Happenings and current offerings.
  • Collaborator and clear communicator with key internal stakeholders (Creative, Digital, Media, and Production, etc.) to ensure departments are resourced appropriately to support their client’s needs.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills: You’re articulate, straightforward, and engaging to lead presentations and build client relationships.

Essential Duties:


Client Contact

  • Guidelines for client contact established by supervisor.
  • Handles most types of client contact.
  • Generally, only involves supervisor for strategic level discussions.
  • Responsible for completeness & accuracy of conference reports and all client correspondence.


Project Management

  • Serves as project manager.
  • Initiates project work with other departments.
  • Involves supervisor only at key decision points.
  • Day-to-day client contact for account projects & deliverables.
  • Regularly participates in presentations to clients.
  • Facilitates project initiation & kick-off meetings with client (dependent on scope).


Strategic Contribution

  • Assists with development & application of strategic imperatives.
  • Develops project briefs with review by supervisor, if needed.
  • Assists with projects & tactical plan development; applies results accordingly.


Financial Responsibility

  • Submits accurate financial projections for accounts to Supervisor, Director and VP.
  • Prepares estimates/SOWs & handles weekly billing with no supervision.
  • Handles billing resolution issues with clients.
  • Monitors financial health on projects & reviews monthly retainer to ensure hours are within allotted budget.
  • Shares some accountability for financial health of accounts with supervisor (organic growth & opportunity mining).


New Business Responsibility

  • May participate in new business pitches as needed.
  • Provides support as requested for RFP response submission.
  • Responsible for organic growth & account mining.


Mentoring, Training & Supervisory Responsibility

  • Responsible for training of new staff as needed, particularly for project management tasks.
  • Responsible for providing overview of accounts to new staff members.
  • Provides input regarding new account staff during review periods.
  • May supervise Assistant Managers, Coordinators and Managers assisting on account.
  • Responsible for attending seminars related to job function (as approved by VP of EMs) and sharing learnings with the group.

General Qualifications:

  • Some experience in integrated marketing communications tactical planning. 
  • Experience managing projects and working with deadlines.
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Problem-solving skills.


Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Integrated Marketing Communications, Business Administration or related field preferred. 
  • Entry-Level to 3 years experience at another advertising agency or marketing communications firm.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiarity with integrated marketing communications with focus on digital.
  • Focus on B2B and/or healthcare a plus.


Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


Physical Demands:

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. 

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.  


Travel:

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
