Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Manager assists the General Manager in the operations of both firearms, general retail and in all services related, including classes. The Assistant Manager will help supervise retail sales, sales staff, inventory, special events, educational services, range services and gun club activities. The Manager works collaboratively with the GM and all staff in creating and maintaining a safe, secure, and profitable business. Evenings and/or weekend availability is crucial for this position.

Achieve Results

  1. Identifies current and future client requirements through established rapport while maintaining strong product knowledge and market trends.
  2. Keeps merchandise orderly, in stock and secure.
  3. Maintains staff by coaching employees. 
  4. Executes a sales pace that is commensurate with company goals.


Operational Excellence

  1. Regularly review inventory and minimize loss.
  2. Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with all legal and health requirements.
  3. Ensures the range and facility are clean and safe.
  4. Facilitates special events and classes as directed, with enthusiasm, knowledge, and keen customer service.
  5. Reports daily to the GM as to any operational issues that might need addressed.


Relationships

  1. Establish and ensure collaborative, supporting relationships within the entire organization. 
  2. Establish and maintain positive, effective relationships with key resources, including external vendors, suppliers, and customers.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Monitor the budget in relation to staffing and inventory
  • Ensure opening and closing procedures are followed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Supervision and coaching of sales staff to maximize profits
  • Firm grasp of technology to execute accurate job function as it relates to operational, management, and Point of Sales systems
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods on the sales floor


Requirements

EDUCATION

High school diploma required, with college hours preferred.  


EXPERIENCE

Preferably 3-5 years of retail management.


OTHER

  • Normal overtime/extended work hours. 
  • Must be able to physically audit and inspect all operations.


Salary Description
$17-20 per hour
