Join the Hirsch team as an Outside Sales Specialist! The Outside Sales Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with branch customers on behalf of the company and for actively prospecting for new accounts, promoting supporting products and services as well as maximizing opportunities with existing customers. The position’s primary focus is to increase market share and to enhance gross profit levels for the company through evaluating and supporting customers’ needs.

Requirements

  

Job Duties 

· Conduct sales calls and face-to-face meetings with customers daily

· In partnership with all HPS divisional managers, develop, execute strategic sales and marketing strategies with the expressed objective of building and increasing long-lasting relationships, competitive advantage, brand (Hirsch Pipe & Supply) awareness, customer engagement, and increased market share & profitability. Proficiency in the utilization of the company’s systems to help maximize sales development and customer needs.

· Develop and cultivate leads and prospective customers.

· Work with the Sales Support Team to support and drive sales.

· Create a personal schedule to cover assigned sales territory.

· Determine customer requirements and recommend products that meet them. 

· Schedule product demonstrations and training with vendors and customers.

· Identify and create solutions to customer service problems.

· Assist customers with special requests (supply information, respond to complaints, etc.)

· Sell the company’s products and services to customers with in given territory. 

· Successfully execute plans to grow sales and customer base.

· Deliver quality products, work with integrity, and always strive to provide excellent customer service.

· Generate and maintain a realistic expectation for accounts and territories.

· Actively use and maintain the company’s CRM system.

· Perform market assessments and competitor analyses.

· Maintain accurate and timely reports of field contacts.

· Cultivate a comprehensive base of applicable product knowledge.


Job Requirements 

  • Must be eighteen years of age.
  • Must pass a Drug Test.
  • Must pass a Background Test.
  • Must pass a Pre-Employment Physical.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Two to Five years outside sales experience.
  • Able to perform mathematical computations.
  • Ability to travel locally required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five to seven years work experience in the plumbing distribution industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and a well-organized approach to work.
  • Able to prioritize the workload and work effectively under time pressure. 
  • Ability to work on a team.
