Job Summary:

As a Restaurant Host at San Chez Bistro, you will be the first point of contact for our guests. Your primary responsibility is to create a positive first impression by greeting and seating guests promptly, providing information about the restaurant, and assisting with any special requests. Your friendly and professional demeanor will contribute to our reputation for outstanding customer service.


Key Responsibilities:

  •  Warm Welcome: Greet guests with a friendly smile, offer a warm welcome, and ensure they feel valued and comfortable as soon as they arrive.
  •  Seating:  Our commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience begins with our hosts engaging in friendly conversations with guests as they escort them to their tables. This interactive approach is essential in gathering valuable information that enables our servers to personalize and enhance each guest's culinary journey.
  •  Reservation Management: Keep track of reservations and waitlists, making efficient seating arrangements to maximize table turnover.
  •  Menu Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with the restaurant's menu offerings, daily specials, and beverage options to answer guest questions and provide recommendations when requested.
  •  Guest Assistance: Attend to guest inquiries and requests, including providing information on the restaurant's facilities, restrooms, and any available promotions.
  •  Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the waiting area and host station are tidy and well-organized at all times.
  •  Collaboration: Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth guest transitions between seating and dining.
  •  Special Occasions: Assist in coordinating and setting up for special events, parties, or celebrations, if necessary.
  •  Problem Resolution: Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism, seeking assistance from management when needed.
  •  Guest Farewell: Bid guests farewell and thank them for choosing San Chez Bistro, leaving a positive and lasting impression.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role or customer service position is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of reservation management software is a plus.
  • A passion for providing exceptional guest experiences.
  • Flexibility in work schedule, including evenings and weekends.
