Job Description:

 The Prep Cook position at San Chez Bistro is vital to the success of our kitchen. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for efficiently preparing and portioning ingredients according to established recipes and standards. The role demands experience, excellent knife skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  •  Ingredient Preparation: Precisely measure, cut, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and established standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
  •  Recipe Adherence: Follow recipes and portion guidelines accurately to contribute to the overall efficiency and consistency of the kitchen.
  •  Knife Skills: Demonstrate exceptional knife skills and proper kitchen techniques to enhance productivity and safety.
  •  Communication: Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure that all necessary ingredients are prepared and available for service.
  •  Organization: Maintain an organized and clean workspace, including proper storage and labeling of prepped ingredients.
  •  Adaptability: Adjust to changing kitchen priorities and contribute to the overall success of the kitchen during peak periods.
  •  Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines, including the proper handling and storage of raw and cooked ingredients.
  •  Quality Control: Assist in quality checks to ensure that all prepped ingredients meet the restaurant's high culinary standards.


Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Prep Cook in a high-volume kitchen is essential.
  • Strong knife skills and proficiency in kitchen techniques.
  • Ability to follow recipes and portion guidelines accurately.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic kitchen environment.
