Description

Assist the Aquatics Lead in the organization and care of the waterfront activities, while serving as a lifeguard for departmental program offerings.

  • Perform the duties of a lifeguard as scheduled, always alert and focused on the safety of all.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, well-cared for waterfront area.
  • Participate in scheduled training and practice of lifeguarding skills.
  • Make suggestions, as needed, to the Aquatics Lead, regarding the operation of the waterfront.
  • Help make campers, staff, and guests feel welcomed at the waterfronts.
  • Teach and show Christ's love to fellow staff and campers in word and in deed.
  • Attend all meetings, both departmental and camp-wide.
  • Be involved in other camp activities as planned by the Recreation and Ministry Departments, as the schedule allows, mainly after dinner hours.
  • Assist in various responsibilities in order to facilitate Sunday camper drop- off and Saturday camper pick-up.
  • Fulfill temporary assignments to other duties, including Cabin Leader, as needed.

Positional

  • Has, or is able to obtain or participate in Timber-lee training to obtain, current Red Cross lifeguard certificate.
  • Must be able to handle working in hot, humid conditions.
  • Performs assigned tasks in a timely and effective way.
  • Is able to physically traverse the multi-terrain campground in all seasons of the year; able to be on one’s feet for long periods of time.

Candidates must be at least 16 years of age at time of hire to be considered for this position.
