The Gund Company has an immediate opening at our Waukesha, WI manufacturing plant for a full time Second Shift Material Handler Level 1 to join our team!

Shift: Second (1:30pm -10:00pm, Mon-Fri)

Hourly wage: $20-$23 plus 15% shift premium for working second shift

Work Location: 809 Philip Drive, Waukesha, WI 53186

What are we looking for? 

  • Complete the Order Fulfillment Process steps related to the accuracy of raw material and finished goods inventory including quantity, storage location, material grade and dimensions.
  • Ability to read shipping documents. 
  • Move material within the warehouse and/or production facility under supervision.
  • Loading and unloading trucks, pulling customer orders together and assembling for shipment
  • Banding, shrink wrapping and using conveyor machines. 
  • Frequent use of powered industrial vehicles; forklifts, manual/electric pallet jacks and scissor lifts

What specifically will you be doing? 

  • Receive, inspect, store or pull and stage material for fabrication according to standard procedures:
  • Ensure materials/products are stored, tagged, or staged in a timely manner
  • Review purchase/work order pick list against shipment details for any special storage requirements, including HAZCOM/HAZMAT
  • Pull and stage material based on (FIFO) sequence required to complete each work order 
  • Perform cycle counts to validate inventory quantities and locations and forward count sheets to supervisor
  • Control material destination i.e. stock, manufacturing or immediate shipment
  • Act as backup for shipping & packing by helping to prepare shipment as required
  • Prepare paperwork/packaging for returned goods tooling going out for repair & return


Requirements

What do we need from you? 

  • Fork Lift certification, required
  • Ability to use basic measuring instruments, required
  • Ability to understand drawing and blue prints, required
  • Prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, preferred
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing industry, preferred.

  • Ability to use a computer and to learn TGC's business software - Visual, Sharepoint, and Utiliities
  • Very good math skills; ability to convert and accurately use various units of measure (sq. feet to inches, metric to English,)
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Previous forklift experience required

Work Environment

The work environment is typical of most shop environments; not climate controlled and subject to outdoor weather conditions. Team members are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting.

  • Frequent exposure to fumes/dust particles; may require use of respirators or other types of PPE.
  • May come in contact with toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
