What you will do:

As the Repair Technician, you will disassemble and evaluate incoming blower, compressors and other Aerzen products, diagnose and recommend action, complete machine repairs, prepare reports and communicate actions as needed.

  • Safety: Performs all work in accordance with quality standards, established safety procedures and maintains a clean, safe work area.
  • Mechanical Skills: Performs safe practices in utilizing hand tools, power tools, machine rigging, and shop equipment; Demonstrate and utilize good mechanical skills, an understanding of rotating equipment and knowledge of proper and safe usage of mechanic’s tools and shop equipment.
  • Equipment Evaluation: Ability to disassemble, assess damage, and evaluate failures on Positive Displacement blowers, High Vacuum blowers, Delta Hybrid Blowers and Compressors. Provides recommendations on the actions and parts required to complete the reassembly of the machine.
  • Documentation: Read, understand and use equipment diagrams, checklists, engineering drawings, and other process documentation to disassemble, and assemble 3 lobe PD blowers and vacuum blowers. 
  • Repair/Assemble Positive Displacement Blowers: Utilizing defined procedures, demonstrates the ability to successfully assemble PD blowers utilizing a standard rebuild kit.
  • Repair/Assemble High Vacuum Blowers: Utilizing defined procedures, demonstrates the ability to successfully assemble HV blowers utilizing a standard rebuild kit.
  • Repair/Assemble Delta Hybrid Blowers: Utilizing defined procedures, demonstrates the ability to successfully assemble Hybrid blowers utilizing a standard rebuild kit.
  • Repair/Assemble Compressor: Utilizing defined procedures, demonstrates the ability to successfully assemble Compressors utilizing a standard rebuild kit.
  • Reports: Prepare a written repair report to document cause of failure, description of work performed, materials consumed, condition of equipment as received and as returned to customer.
  • Welding: Previous welding experience to complete welding certificate (brazing, cutting, welding, plasma).
  • Field Service: As required, perform equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairs and/or PM service on customer equipment onsite; Represent Aerzen in professional and courteous manner following all Aerzen and customer safety requirements.
  • Machine Knowledge: Ability to diagnose problems with Aerzen machines by evaluating material condition and asking the customer questions; demonstrates the ability to offer machine-based recommendations; can identify the root cause of a machine failure.
  • Training: Ability to train new team members on essential job functions.
  • Department Support: Participate in departmental initiatives such as inventory counts, shop organization and clean-up.  
Requirements

Education: A High School Diploma (GED) Required. 

Experience: 3 - 5 years of experience, related to mechanical, rotating equipment and/or engineer repair. 

Certification(s): N/A

Computer Skills: Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet Usage. 

Other Skills: Ability to regularly use a forklift, ladder, hand/power tools, digital equipment, welding equipment, hydraulic equipment, refurbishing equipment, calibrating equipment, measuring tools, and pallet jacks.
