HR Business Partner

Description:

The Human Resources Business Partner serves as the HR Lead for the business at the plant level including employee relations, communication, culture, payroll, workman’s compensation, benefits, training and development, and legal compliance. Provide diversified strategic and tactical support in Human Resources and support to plant leadership and team members. 

• Handle all plant and distribution center employee relations issues

• Liaison with our talent acquisition team to ensure streamlined best in class recruitment and onboarding

• Investigation experience/management

• Ensure all Job Descriptions are up-to-date

• Ensure headcount aligns with budget

• Coach team members and plant supervision on positive employee relations and ongoing development needs

• Develop plant communications

• Support the development of HR Processes and Policies

• Supports all corporate change management initiatives and facilitates needs at the plant level

• Meet established HR metrics

• Understand external customer and market trends

• Maintain strong network in manufacturing

• Liaison with payroll to ensure accurate pay and team member records in HCM platform

• Responsible for the co-administration of all benefit programs.

-Resolving team member claims issues with the vendors and tracking these issues through to resolution including notifying the appropriate parties of service problems

-Responds to information requests from the vendors such as bid submissions and renewal reviews

• Processing of all benefit enrollment forms and status change forms for the medical, life, disability programs and any other benefit program including renewals and terminations as well as the processing of check requests for payment of related vendor invoices

• Tracking of disability cases to ensure that associates are on approved leaves

-Responsible for addressing team members who extend their leave or are unauthorized for leave which includes associate communications

-Monitors team member status as it relates to benefits eligibility

• Administering FMLA which includes processing requests, reviewing documentation to determine that it is an approved FMLA, tracking the FMLA period and communicating any issues with the team members and supervisors

• Takes an active role in all Worker’s Compensation cases, providing insight and partnering with Safety Manager 

• Assists in the coordination and implementation of training programs as well as the documents management to ensure we are set up for organizational effectiveness and team member engagement

• Create reports as requested related to the entire employee life cycle (training, onboarding, development, performance management, exit interviews, etc.)

• Perform other duties and special projects as required

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

• 7+ years in a manufacturing environment 

• A proactive approach

• A hands-on attitude toward building relationships with all plant leadership and team members

• Must have effective verbal and written English communication skills

• Able to handle team member issues on multiple shifts

• Ability to work with all levels of team members throughout the organization

• Master’s Degree, SHRM or HRCI certification highly desirable

• Solid computer skills

• Must have knowledge of State and Federal employment and payroll laws
