Position Overview:


The FTZ Administrator position is responsible for ensuring compliance with and control over government rules and regulations, which includes all FTZ compliance, customs audits and FTZ recordkeeping requirements. The FTZ Administrator administers DMA's import and export policies and standard operating procedures in accordance with FTZ and Customs and Border Patrol regulations.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Operate the FTZ inventory control, using our ERP system Sage 100 and recordkeeping system, using the Precision FT software. Verify inventory transactions; process and related data are complete and accurate. 
  • Request or compile necessary import documentation, such as customs invoices, certificates of origin, and cargo-control documents.
  • Track and manage receipts by monitoring inbound shipments; prepare in-transit entries and/ or permit-to-transfers as required.
  • Prepare, maintain, and record all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual FTZ forms and reports ensuring that they are timely, complete and accurate.
  • Work closely with the distribution centers to ensure inventory transactions are recorded accurately and resolve issues in accordance to established FTZ policies and procedures.
  • Advise others on import and export restrictions, FTZ requirements, quotas, or other Customs-related matters.
  • Confer with distribution centers, shippers, and officials of various agencies to facilitate clearance of goods through customs and quarantine.
  • Monitor or trace the location of goods. 
  • Audit and verify the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to inventory transactions recorded by other workers. 
  • Arrange for transportation, warehousing, or product distribution of imported or exported products.
  • Maintain proper record keeping and management reporting.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business / supply chain, Logistics or related field and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an FTZ, import operations, or customs compliance function field or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to manage multiple tasks with effective organizational skills and able to establish priorities.
  • Experience performing any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain data for use in maintaining regulatory compliance records. 
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with demanding deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong computer literacy (including MS Office and FTZ entry/admission filing software)
  • Ability to check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.
  • Attention to Detail — Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks within specific timeline rules.

  • Incumbent work hours/schedule and/or shift are subject to change based on business needs and Management discretion.
  • Other duties may be assigned as business necessitates.
  • Company has a “Zero Tolerance” policy regarding insubordination and/or refusal to carry out work as directed. This can result in immediate separation of employment.

Language Skills: 

Ability to read and write in English. Ability to effectively articulate and present information and respond to questions from Management in a professional manner.
