Title: Maintenance Worker
Reports To: Facilities Manager
Come join our growing team at the Beacon Hill Club! What sets our club apart? Beacon Hill is a family-oriented club situated on 9 acres in Summit, NJ. Our newly renovated and lighted ice rink is one of the only outdoor rinks in the area, making it the perfect escape for families to enjoy all year round. In addition, our grounds consist of tennis courts, paddle courts, hockey, and a pool to enjoy in the summer. We are looking for a dedicated, responsible Maintenance Worker, who can work on all the grounds, landscaping, general maintenance both indoor and outdoor the club, and help setup up for event functions. The schedule is from Monday-Friday, hours will vary, weekends and holidays required.
Job Tasks and Duties
- Maintain all grounds by keeping it in pristine condition throughout the year, including pavement entrances and snow removal
- Landscaping maintenance: Duties include, but not limited to cut lawn, trims, and edges around walks, curbs, planting beds, and walls, using appropriate grounds maintenance tools
- Set up tables, chairs, etc. in the Clubhouse for event functions, and other duties as required
- Assist on building ice rink and tennis courts, will be trained
Required Skills
- Team player, who is punctual, and reliable
- Must be able to follow instructions, and be flexible with constantly changing priorities and deadlines
- Experience using maintenance or construction tools to consistently produce high quality work in an efficient and timely manner
Education and Experience
- Must have 2 years of experience in maintenance; country club or private club experience preferred, but not required
- Basic understanding of electricity, plumbing, and grounds maintenance
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Walking and standing for extended periods of time
- Lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling equipment and supplies weighing up to 80lbs.
- Exposure to adverse weather conditions
