Position overview:

As a Shopify Engineer at Skybound, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing our Shopify-based e-commerce platform. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to implement new features, enhance the user experience, and ensure the smooth operation of our online store. Your expertise in Shopify development, e-commerce best practices, and problem-solving skills will be critical in driving our online business forward.

Reports: This position will report to the Chief Technology Officer

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the design and product teams to implement visually appealing and user-friendly e-commerce experiences on Shopify.
• Customize and extend Shopify themes and templates to meet specific business requirements.
• Develop and maintain Shopify apps, plugins, and custom scripts to enhance website functionality and performance.
• Optimize website speed, performance, and responsiveness for an exceptional user experience.
• Conduct regular audits and testing to ensure the website is fully functional and free of errors.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the Shopify platform.
• Stay up-to-date with Shopify updates, e-commerce trends, and industry best practices.
• Ensure website security and compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with the broader development team to integrate Shopify with other systems and applications as needed.
• Provide technical support and training to other team members as required.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in Shopify development, including theme customization and app development.
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid.
• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.
• Knowledge of web performance optimization techniques is a plus.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Loyalty programs
• Passion for comic books, animation, video games and Skybound IP

Job Type: Regular, Full-Time

Salary Range: $140,000 - $150,000
 

• Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc.
• The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees
• Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each role
