The position is responsible for day-to-day oversight of the Operations Department, both operationally and technically, to meet Department objectives. This also includes managing, coaching, training and supporting Operations Department employees. Department oversight areas include, but are not limited to: ACH, ATM, Check, Debit Card, Overdraft, Wire Transfer, Cash Position, G/L processing and reconciliations, including various other back office and deposit functions. Liaison support for branches, audits, and various third party vendor relationships as related to the functions of the Operations Department.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide oversight on day-to-day aspects of the Operations Department, including work schedules, responsibilities, and procedures
Ensure electronic systems needed to run the Department are operational - coordinate issues with Information Systems for resolution
Liaison support with various third party vendors
Manage or delegate special projects
Handle escalated situations to ensure resolution
Serve on various internal Bank committees
Develop and coach employees, including performance appraisal reviews for Department staff
Review G/L reconciliations - coordinate with the Finance Department
Coordinate maintenance of customer accounts relating to Operations Department functions
Prepare and/or conduct periodic review of various reports
Develop detailed knowledge of the Bank’s products, services and general information, as well as a basic understanding of operation in other departments of the Bank
Maintain interpersonal customer service skills – written and oral
Successfully complete training programs as necessary
Complete other tasks/projects as assigned by Management

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Minimum of three years of management experience
Minimum of three years of financial institution experience – back office operations experience preferred
Knowledge of computer operation and the ability to utilize the Bank’s software
Strong attention to detail
Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
Must show initiative, reliability and team orientated attitude
Strong organization and problem solving skills
