As a Christian ministry, we have the privilege of sharing the JOY of Jesus with everyone who comes to Camp Timber-lee. Part of that joy is having a beautiful 600+ acre camp where people come to find a respite in their daily lives.
From team building to ziplines, maintaining world-class recreational activities is as important to Camp Timber-lee as providing quality programs and great service. Join a Timber Challenge team that helps manage adventure courses and recreational opportunities in a spectacular ministry setting.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as an instructor, facilitator, and host within Camp Timber-lee’s various programs, including outdoor education, retreats, and summer and winter camps.
- Instruct classes including, but not limited to, rock climbing, zipline, high ropes, teambuilding, archery, wilderness survival and more.
- Plan and facilitate program activities and opportunities.
- Assist with equipment and departmental infrastructure care and maintenance.
- Assist hosting various outdoor education and retreat groups.
- Assist in other camp wide tasks and opportunities to care for camp assets and facilities as assigned.
- Responsible for execution of pre and post Timber-lee recreation experience planning and preparations.
- Participates in and responsible for assisting in overall camp ministry planning.

- Strives to demonstrate the Christian Lifestyle through thought, attitude, actions and behaviors that reflect a personal faith in Jesus Christ by exhibiting the fruits of the Spirit.
- Exhibits a sincere love for the Lord and desires to see people come to know Him personally and grow in their faith.
Organizational
- In agreement of, and supports, Timber-lee's Ministries philosophy and policies.
- Demonstrates excellent work ethic and excels at providing quality guest experiences.
- Has excellent communication skills and the ability to teach or lead others.
- Understands and exhibits behaviors and skills needed to function and be accountable in a team environment.
- Passion for people, learning new things, and a sense of adventure.
Positional
- Chosen candidate required to live on-grounds in shared dorm style units (non-married).
- Is able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of reaching and touching items at a height of 84” off the ground.
- Comfortable or demonstrated capability to work at various heights with attached protective gear (55ft or lower) above the ground.
- Individuals in these positions must maintain a weight below a maximum climber’s weight of 265lbs.
- Individuals must possess or be capable of possessing lifeguard certification within 60 days of position start and able to demonstrate ongoing proficiency as a swimmer and lifeguarding recertification.
- Is able to physically traverse the multi-terrain grounds in all seasons, and work in outdoor environments in all seasons of the year.
- College degree preferable.
- Must be 21 years of age or older and have a valid drivers license.
- 2 year contract with evaluation and potential for extension of contract.
