This position could be a Project Engineer or a Staff Engineer, depending on applicant qualifications. As a Project Engineer or Staff Engineer, you will work as part of the Wastewater Department on a wide variety of projects. This position needs someone who can work independently and as part of a team. Each day can bring something new, so we need someone excited to meet the challenges head on.
Summary: Assists other engineering staff in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of civil engineering technology as directed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Develops project plans and specifications.
• Direct and/or coordinate work with surveying and civil engineering technician staff.
• Performs software modeling, construction administration and observation as well as startup related responsibilities.
• Understands and works to ensure projects are completed on time and within project budget.
Candidates need a 4-year degree in Engineering for the Project Engineer position, and a South Dakota Professional Engineer license. Staff Engineer candidates must be qualified or registered as an Engineer-In-Training.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States and have a valid driver’s license. This position can be based in our Brookings or Sioux Falls office.
