Purpose of Position: Responsible for placing patients in rooms; assisting physicians with procedures; performing certain procedures under the direction of a physician; recording vital statistics, obtaining the nature of presenting problem, giving injections, reviewing sample medications for outdates, maintaining adequate supplies, and stocking exam rooms.
Essential Functions:
1. Basic knowledge of medical software
2. Make appointments as needed.
3. Assist with Office Surgeries
4. Blood pressure checks
5. Ear lavage
6. Keep exam rooms clean and organized.
7. Review and dispose of outdated medications and samples.
8. Maintain inventory
9. Patient education
10. Schedule outpatient procedures and complete necessary paperwork.
11. Put patients in rooms for physicians, vitals and update PMH, meds, ect at each visit in EMR.
12. Document communication with patients in charts.
13. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
14. In-Service as required by SCH
15. Prepare the charts for the clinic at least the day prior to clinic day
16. Give injections
17. Fill in for other providers when their staff is out.
18. Float – help out another nurse/MA when your provider is out.
19. Complete other duties assigned by Management

Additional Responsibilities:
1. All individuals in this department are expected to treat patients under the direction of the physicians in compliance with the wishes of the patient/customer and family members as long as it does not conflict with physician’s orders and is in the best interest of the patient/customer. At no time should the personal interests and beliefs of a staff member interfere with treatment and care a patient/customer receives.
2. Assumes other duties as requested by management.
Education, Qualifications, Experience:
CPR certified (Can provide training if hired)
Previous healthcare experience
Experience using computer software
Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to interact with diverse teams
Hours of Employment:
Expected to be at work not prior to 8:00 but by 8:30.
Will need to remain until their provider is finished for the day.
Lunch Break – 12:00 to 1:00 – will need to clock out.
This is a non-exempt position. Regular and punctual attendance required.

Personal Characteristics:
Friendly, compassionate, high energy, time oriented, well organized, able to do multifaceted tasks, neat in appearance, excellent communication skills, independent and has a vision to see what needs to be done.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Medical terminology, basic nursing skills to include blood pressures, temperatures, pulse, audiograms, use of minor surgical equipment and supplies, be able to give injections, scheduling practices for physicians, complete outpatient ordering forms, triage patients, notifying patients of test results and be CPR certified.
Equipment:
Stethoscope, ear lavage, telephones, thermometer, exam tables, copy machine, fax machine, syringes, blood pressure cuffs, audiometer, eye exam equipment, wheelchairs, Welch Allyn’s, computer.
Working Conditions:
Medical office environment. Contact with patients, the general public, and physicians. Multi-task-oriented position with frequent interruptions. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people.
Physical Requirements:
May require being on feet for extended periods of time. Some bending, stooping, and lifting. May occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
