South College, a regional leader in Higher Education, is continuing its growth strategy both geographically and in its program offerings and is launching an exciting Competency Based Education (CBE) Masters degree in Criminal Justice.

This program is designed to allow students to accelerate their Masters journey through 6-month subscription-based terms that allows each student to progress through each course and the program as they demonstrate mastery in an accelerated format. South College is seeking qualified and experienced individuals to join our dynamic team as Adjunct Faculty members in our Competency-Based Education (CBE) Masters in Criminal Justice Program. RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Course Instruction: Design and deliver high-quality, engaging, and competency-based courses in the Masters in Criminal Justice Program.

2. Curriculum Development: Collaborate with program leadership to contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the competency-based curriculum. 

a) Monitor curricula to ensure compliance with South College standards and other accrediting bodies.

b) Participate in course and curriculum evaluations and audits and implement recommendations as requested.

3. Student Support: Actively engage with students, offering guidance, mentorship, and support to enhance their academic experience and success. 

a. Mentor students in a 1 to 1 in course setting, where the student will attempt to demonstrate their mastery over competencies through the completion of assessments.

b. Respond to all student emails and inquiries within 24 hours.

c. Provide robust qualitative and quantitative feedback on student submissions.

d. Provide proactive and reactive outreach for students via email, phone conversations, and video conferencing. Consistent and direct communication with students in a variety of modes is essential to the success of this position and to the CBE students at South College. 

4. Assessment and Feedback: Evaluate student performance based on established competencies, providing timely and constructive feedback to support their learning and development. Evaluate/Grade all assessments within 48 hours of the student submission.

Qualifications:

1. Education: A terminal degree (Ph.D., J.D., or equivalent) in Criminal Justice or a related field from an accredited institution.

2. Experience: Substantial experience in the field of criminal justice, along with a proven track record of effective teaching at the graduate level.

3. Competency-Based Education Knowledge: Familiarity with competency-based education principles and practices is highly desirable.

4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students in an online learning environment.
