Overview: 

We are seeking a talented Plastic Engineer with Cost Estimation experience to join our team. In this crucial engineering role, you will be responsible for reviewing, pricing, and providing precise quotes for custom plastic injection molding projects. Your expertise will ensure cost-effectiveness and efficient manufacturing while meeting customer requirements and product specifications. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with sales, internal engineering teams, and external vendors to accurately price new customer projects.
  • Review customer agreements and specifications to ensure appropriate material selection and adherence to ISO specifications (if applicable).
  • Prepare completed RFQs, generate reliable estimates, and verify that supplier tooling aligns with production requirements.
  • Secure external vendor pricing and/or apply standard costs to determine manufacturing prices.
  • Apply profit margins by marking up costs and recommend final selling prices to management.
  • Review and approve all tool designs and design changes, updating pricing as necessary.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of customer history folders, pricing data, and related reports.
  • Prepare estimates and provide them to the team for planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Plastics Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in pricing/quoting custom plastic injection molding projects.
  • Knowledge of tooling, processing, raw materials, and the latest equipment and techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to excel under deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using IQMS, SolidWorks/AutoCAD, and MS Office.
