We spend our days creating life changing opportunities for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. As a community support coach working in our Residence you will support adult clients in their pursuit of maximal independence, growth, and fulfillment.


General Description

The Faison Residence features 45 apartments, approximately a third of the apartments are set aside for adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. The remaining apartments are rented to the public, making this an integrated community. The Community Support Coach helps provide development of daily life skills and health and recreation programs. Responsible for teaching new skills and managing behaviors to maximize independence in activities of daily living. Work location is in a variety of community based settings, but primarily occurs in the apartment building. This position is Essential to the daily operations of the program and individuals in this role are deemed Essential Personnel requiring inclement weather related and crisis availability.

Requirements


Job Summary:

We will train you to perform all necessary duties when working with students.

-Deliver one-to-one and small group instruction to adults while using the community as their classroom.

-Facilitate participation in social, recreational and leisure activities

-Help individuals maximize their potential and connect with their community

-Collect data to measure individual progress

-Work collaboratively with a team to help individuals achieve meaningful outcomes and improve their quality of life


Qualifications:

-Current valid driver's license required

-High school diploma or equivalent required

-Bachelor's degree preferred

-Experience working with individuals with disabilities is great, but more importantly we value a desire to help make a difference in people’s lives


Salary Description
$17.00-21.00, depending on education/experience
