III. Job Summary

The Merchandise Intern is responsible for assisting the Buyer and Retail Manager in maintaining Golf Shop retail and merchandise operations with a strong focus on the Erin Hills Online Store. This position requires an active sales presence on the shop floor, strong organizational skills in the stockroom, and daily management of the online store. Weekend availability is required.


V. Duties / Responsibilities

Online Store:

  • Photograph and upload products daily, including descriptions, inventory counts, and sizing
  • Remove discontinued or sold-out items promptly
  • Monitor online inventory and maintain accuracy across categories and sizes
  • Fulfill all online orders in a timely manner (process through Jonas, package, and ship)
  • Work with Retail Manager to develop and implement strategies that drive online sales

Sales & Customer Service:

  • Actively sell on the shop floor with strong product knowledge and a professional, welcoming approach
  • Deliver exceptional guest service by offering recommendations and product expertise
  • Accurately process all transactions through the Jonas POS system

Visual Merchandising & Shop Standards 

  • Create visually appealing displays that reflect the Erin Hills brand and boost sales
  • Ensure the shop is consistently neat and clean, including folding, sizing, and ongoing upkeep
  • Support the distribution and recordkeeping of staff uniforms; maintain the uniform storage area

Stockroom & Inventory Management

  • Restock the shop multiple times per day by pulling merchandise from the basement stockroom
  • Keep the stockroom clean, organized, and efficient at all times
  • Receive, tag, track, and store merchandise accurately
  • Assist in monthly and final inventory counts

Golf Shop Operations

  • Participate in daily Golf Shop operations, including golfers’ check-in and opening/closing procedures
  • Support overall shop functionality and contribute to a positive guest experience

VI. Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and customer service skills; confident and enthusiastic on the sales floor
  • Previous retail or sales experience preferred (not required)
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and work  independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable with technology, including point-of-sale systems, Microsoft Office, and basic photography      for online store content
  • Creative eye for visual merchandising and product presentation
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods
