JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manager of Donor Research & Trends to join our Development team. This individual will be responsible for gathering and analyzing data, producing profiles, and providing critical insights to inform decision-making within the Development department. The successful candidate will have a strong research background, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex information into actionable strategies.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Prospect Research:

  • Identify and research potential individual, foundation, and corporate donors and prospects.
  • Generate donor, foundation, and corporate profiles. 
  • Provide detailed profiles on prospective donors and prospects, including wealth indicators, philanthropic interests, and giving history. 

Market and Trend Analysis:

  • Conduct research on market trends, funding opportunities, and best practices in philanthropy.
  • Stay informed about developments in the nonprofit sector that may impact fundraising strategies.

Data Analysis:

  • Analyze and interpret data related to donor behavior, giving patterns, and fundraising outcomes.
  • Utilize tools such as iWave and NexisLexis to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement in fundraising efforts.

Grant and Proposal Support:

  • Assist in the development of grant proposals by providing relevant data and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Grants Manager to ensure proposals are aligned with the organization's strategic goals.

Reporting and Presentation:

  • Prepare and present research findings and memos to inform decision-making within the Development team.
  • Create visually engaging presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Requirements
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in research, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
  • Experience working in wealth screen tools such as iWave.
  • Experience working in NexisLexis and other research tools. 
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in using research tools and databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with donor database, Salesforce or Blackbaud is a plus. 
Salary Description
$95,000-$125,000
