SUMMARY
The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall success of a full-service branch, with primary accountability for business development and team management. This position drives branch growth through the development of new deposit and loan relationships and merchant services accounts. The position requires active participation in sales and ongoing cultivation of community and customer relationships. Equally critical, the Branch Manager provides strong leadership, coaching, and supervision to branch personnel, ensuring a high-performing, well-trained, and engaged team.
The Branch Manager ensures that branch operations are conducted efficiently, professionally, and in full compliance with Bank policies, internal controls, and applicable state and federal regulations. This role is accountable for achieving established Bank and branch goals, maintaining superior customer service standards, safeguarding Bank assets, and fostering a positive sales and service culture. The Branch Manager may assume additional management responsibilities in the absence of the Regional Manager, as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Business Development and Relationship Management
1. Leads business development efforts for the branch by actively soliciting new deposit, loan relationships, and merchant services accounts as well as expanding existing customer relationships, and identifying opportunities to increase profitability.
2. Maintains a visible and active presence in the community through participation in business, civic, and service organizations, public speaking engagements, and other outreach activities that promote the Bank’s brand and services.
3. Cultivates and manages customer relationships by meeting with customers to assess financial needs, recommend appropriate Bank products and services, and resolve complex issues as necessary.
4. Promotes a strong sales culture by educating staff on Bank products and services, motivating employees to cross-sell, monitoring performance against established goals, and reinforcing ethical sales practices.
5. Reviews market conditions, customer trends, and competitive factors affecting the branch and makes informed recommendations to senior management regarding marketing strategies and growth opportunities.
6. Originates and manages loans in accordance with Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including gathering and analyzing financial information, preparing financial reviews, and recommending loan structures and terms.
7. Coordinates the processing and servicing of approved loans to ensure compliance with lending policies, customer expectations, and documentation standards.
Team Management and Leadership
1. Provides leadership, supervision, and direction to branch management and staff, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and customer-focused work environment.
2. Recruits, trains, develops, and retains branch personnel through effective coaching, delegation, performance evaluations, and corrective action when necessary.
3. Ensures adequate staffing and coverage for all branch functions, including coordinating schedules, approving time off, and adjusting resources to meet business needs.
4. Leads by example in delivering superior customer service and reinforces service expectations through ongoing communication, training, and feedback.
5. Develops a highly cross-trained team by promoting knowledge sharing, skill development, and professional growth among staff members.
Branch Operations, Compliance, and Oversight
1. Oversees day-to-day branch operations, including opening and closing the branch, approving large transactions, reviewing operational reports, and ensuring an orderly, secure, and professional branch environment.
2. Ensures full compliance with Bank policies, internal controls, audit standards, security requirements, BSA, CTR, and all applicable state and federal regulations, and implements corrective actions as necessary.
3. Conducts periodic reviews and audits of branch operations, cash controls, and procedures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation.
4. Monitors branch expenses and implements appropriate cost controls to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines while supporting business growth.
5. Maintains working knowledge of industry trends, regulatory developments, and economic conditions affecting branch performance.
6. Prepares required management, operational, and compliance reports accurately and in a timely manner.
7. Serves on internal committees or project teams as assigned by senior management.
SECONDARY DUTIES
Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support branch operations and organizational objectives.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
The Branch Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of four or more employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Bank policies, applicable employment laws, and EEO guidelines.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Related experience must include branch operations, business development, lending, and supervisory responsibilities within a financial institution.
· Progressively responsible experience in branch management, team leadership, and business development.
· Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, tax returns, credit analysis, and lending practices.
· Working knowledge of state and federal banking regulations, compliance requirements, and Bank policies and procedures.
· Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships, generate new business, and achieve sales and growth objectives.
· Proven leadership, organizational, and delegation skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
· Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Proficiency in standard banking and office software, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise discretion and sound judgment in complex situations.
· Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation, when required for business purposes.
