JOB SUMMARY: 

 

An Admissions Counselor is a primary point of contact for prospective students and their influencers, participating in all phases of the recruitment process with timely, accurate and helpful information and service. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, this person must be self-motivated, goal-oriented and able to take on multiple tasks.

    

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 


• Effectively communicate the mission of Lourdes University to prospective students, high school counselors, and the community.

• Represent Lourdes in assigned geographic regions for recruitment at high schools, college fairs, and community events.

• Exercise independent judgment to effectively develop a recruitment plan to enroll a specified number of students from a defined geographic territory.

• Effectively interact with faculty, staff and other constituent groups within and outside of the University.

• Independently identify high schools, and other community organizations to visit during recruiting activities.

• Conduct on-campus and virtual interviews with prospective students and their parents.

• Follow up on inquiry files through phone calls and other appropriate correspondence.

• Identify and evaluate qualified student applicant files for timely admittance to Lourdes University. 

• Plan and coordinate special projects that are a part of the overall recruitment plan.

• Work closely with the Office of Student Financial Aid to provide students with accurate information and counseling concerning the basics of the financial aid process.

• Work closely with the athletics department including coaches, assistants, and the VP of athletics. 

• Utilize the Admission’s CRM (Slate) and effectively implement various types of communications 


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:


• Bachelor’s degree required.

• One to three years in a related educational position and/or higher education preferred.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluency in Spanish is desirable.

• A valid driver’s license with the ability and willingness to travel.

• Demonstrated organizational and planning abilities.

• Familiarity with PC applications, a CRM, and on-line technology.

• Availability to work evenings and weekends.

• Desire to be actively involved with the campus community.

• A high degree of personal integrity and professionalism.
