The Meal Coordinator for OYC Miami’s Year-Round Program plays a vital role in ensuring that students receive nutritious and appealing meals during their time in our program. This position involves overseeing the management of the cafeteria, planning menus, coordinating food service operations, and adhering to health and safety regulations. The Meal Coordinator will work closely with program staff to create a positive dining experience for students.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Duties
- Collaborate with food vendors/caterers to ensure students receive a well-balanced and age-appropriate menu for meals served during after school and full-day programming
- Ensure menus comply with dietary restrictions and allergen considerations.
- Source and procure food supplies, ensuring cost-effective and quality ingredients.
- Maintain an organized inventory system to track food and supplies.
- Monitor food expiration dates and manage inventory turnover.
- Maintain a clean and safe food service environment.
- Assist with managing the food service budget, tracking expenses and optimizing costs.
- Foster a positive dining environment by promoting good eating habits and etiquette.
- Organize educational sessions related to nutrition and healthy eating for students.
- Maintain accurate records of meal services
- Seek feedback from students and staff to make improvements.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma required (at minimum)
- Previous experience in food service management/coordination
- Knowledge of nutrition principles
- Familiarity with food safety regulation and best practices
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to carry out responsibilities and adapt to changing needs and goals
- Available 25-30 hours per week
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must pass drug screening and Level 2 background check
