About the Organization

National Children’s Alliance (NCA) is the national association and accrediting body for Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs). Formed in 1988, NCA has been providing support, technical assistance, and quality assurance for CACs, while serving as a voice for abused children for more than 30 years.


Job Summary: A Senior Financial Program Assoicate is responsible for administering and implementing assigned operations projects. These include but are not limited to grant budget monitoring, agency budget monitoring, annual review of insurance policies, annually auditing state withholding and unemployment insurance requirements, and special projects as assigned. Some work will be administrative in nature. The position works cooperatively with the staff in the Business Operations Division as well as other NCA personnel and members. The position directly reports to the Vice President of Operations.


Position Summary

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist the VP of Operations as directed in all areas that fall under the purview of Operations: IT, Accounting and Finance, Administrative Tasks, and Risk Management.
  • Prepares financial analysis and reports as directed.
  • In cooperation with the Federal Grants Project Manager, monitors grant budgets and adherence to federal financial guidelines. 
  • Effectively develop and manage vendor contracts.
  • Accurately and consistent with policy, processes financial documents, reports, and forms.
  • Reviews monthly general ledger and financial reports for accuracy. 
  • Implements effective processes to monitor grants data in GIFTS for accuracy.
  • Assists in audit preparation, and preparation for desk reviews.
  • Build successful relationships with staff, members, and vendors. 
  • Develops and submits DOJ financial grant budget modifications.
  • Develops and submits non-government grant budgets and modifications
  • Assists the VP of Operations with the development of the agency budget.
  • Completes auditing insurance needs.
  • Completes state payroll task as required.
  • Assists with the development of grant or foundation budgets.
  • Other duties as assigned, some of which may be administrative in nature.
Requirements

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other related business degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, finance, grants financial management or other related financial management experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Uniform Guidance and other federal financial management rules and regulations a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Advanced knowledge and work in Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and contracts. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Positive, solution-focused, problem-solving orientation.
  • Ability to appropriately manage sensitive information and situations. 
  • Ability to work independently while seeking appropriate guidance and feedback.
  • Detail-oriented with an understanding of quality assurance processes. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with assigned tasks.


WORK ENVIORNMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Remote position.
  • Occasional travel.
  • This position is mainly sedentary.

Salary Description
Salary Range $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 Annually
