JOB DESCRIPTION

The Project Executive position plays a key role in our organization as the leader of specific project assignments, client relationships, project development within a specific client base or at specific client sites, recruiting, mentoring of staff, developing business opportunities, participating in strategy of project approach and dispute resolution, management of specific key company projects and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction. This entails direct and indirect oversight of project managers, project
engineers, superintendents, and administrative staff plus outside engineering firms, subcontractors, and vendors. Compliance with operational standards and the health and safety program are part of this position. This role requires inter-department and direct project responsibilities be handled in a timely and effective manner.

The Project Executive follows through with plans to execute projects through a project team in a multi-project environment while developing additional work opportunities within the client base and/or ensuring PROTECS goals and objectives are met at senior levels within a client’s organization. In addition, the Project Executive will seek to extend relationships to build work with new and existing clients and will work to build new project opportunities for the organization. This position focuses on specific projects and clients, developing relationships, building revenue and project success stories, execution of projects, facilitating resolution of specific project disputes, etc. The skills developed in this position will assist the individual in future career growth and organization leadership.

  • Experience level: 14-16 years, minimum
  • Background: Engineering or architectural degree or formal training with equivalent experience; professional registration helpful

Typical Activities:

  • Provides leadership and direction to specific project teams
  • Seeks to establish and extend relationships at existing and new project sites and with new and existing clients to increase revenues and relationships in an effort toward securing and executing additional projects.
  • Manages risks at specific projects and client sites
  • Ensures profitable project execution in a timely manner with a satisfied client
  • Leads, steers, directs specific project team’s efforts to ensure successful project execution
  • Maintains an executive level relationship with owner’s PM and senior staff
  • Reviews projects with PROTECS management to ensure staff/project needs are fulfilled
  • Reports on client site projects and operations to PROTECS management
  • Prepares and finalizes monthly client status reports for all directed projects
  • Reviews and participates on a monthly interval in project cost report meetings
  • Attends key project meetings
  • Checks in on site progress regularly
  • Identifies, manages critical project risk issues.
  • Ensures project teams duties are executed properly
  • Helps recruit, train, and mentor staff
  • Coordinates with and supports marketing and sales efforts
  • Leads some sales efforts, particularly at existing client sites
  • Will run front-end on some projects and may fully execute others as a Sr. Project
  • Manager or Project Manager
  • Responsible for costs and profits on assigned projects
  • Responsible for schedule delivery on assigned projects
  • Responsible for risk management on assigned projects
  • Responsible for all field operations and field staff on assigned projects
  • Performs other tasks as needed to fulfill company needs
