Maintenance Technician

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic Maintenance Team. At CORMETECH our Maintenance Technicians are passionate about maintaining our production and processing equipment to minimize equipment downtime so that we can meet our business and client’s needs in a timely manner. Your primary role will be to perform highly diversified duties including but not limited to installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive maintenance systems and processes.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Perform general preventative maintenance procedures for the plant operation while following plant rules and sound safety practices.
  • Perform daily maintenance activities such as painting, repairing, industrial cleaning and operating driver sweeper machines.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair .
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Using a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Requirements

What You Will Bring:

  • Ability to perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines and plant facilities
  • Familiar with centrifugal pumps, air diaphragm pumps, and automated valves.
  • Must be able to read and understand P&ID diagrams, machine drawings, and electrical diagrams as needed in addition to interpreting equipment manuals
  • Forklift experience and training.
  • Analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot PLC issues.
  • Experience with overhead cranes, air compressor, boilers, and their operation is a plus.
  • Welding experience helpful
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Independent judgement and analytical skills
  • Dependable/Timely with reliable transportation and driver’s license
  • Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field. High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience – in an industrial plant setting.


The Working Conditions:

  • This job operates in a plant environment of four facilities.
  • Temperature can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter.
  • The noise level is high and requires attentiveness.
  • Dusty environment though routinely air checked.


The Physical Requirements:

  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and possibly climbing.
  • The employee must be able to lift 40 pounds.


Work Schedule:

A & B shifts work a 2-2-3-day shift (6:00am - 6:30pm)

C Shift Monday – Thursday (6:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.) - No openings at this time for C shift

Location:

Cormetech is located in Charlotte, North Carolina, Durham North Carolina, Kings Mountain North Carolina, and Cleveland Tennessee. This position will be based out of our Kings Mountain, North Carolina location. This position will be in-person.
