Position Summary: As an ABEC Electrical Assembler you will apply electrical theory and related knowledge to testing, building, and modifying various types of electrical equipment and components by reading and interpreting drawings.
Shifts available: 1st Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm 2nd Shift: 2:00pm – 10:30pm, includes 10% shift differential
Responsibilities:
• Fabricate electrical equipment according to drawings.
• Receive components and confirm against drawing and/or list of materials or quality standards.
• Solder/fit/assemble components.
• Fabricate specialty parts.
• Recommend improvements.
• Conduct operations in a safe manner.
• Follow all safety rules and policies.
• Inspect fabrications for quality, safety, and operation as requested.
• Audit equipment against drawings as requested.
• Prepare equipment for shipment.
• Support fabrications for quality, safety and operation as requested.
• Support start-up and equipment repair as requested.
• Trouble short and repair systems as requested.
• Execute other tasks as assigned.
• Domestic and international travel is required.
• Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years post-graduate in Manufacturing.
• 2 years’ experience in Electrical Assembly or Industrial Controls.
• Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs./ 23 kilograms.
• Typical work is in a manufacturing environment or customer’s site.
• Required to stand for long periods of time and may involve heavy manual labor.
• You will need to be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, push, pull, and carry items.
• Exposure to loud noises.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment.
• Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus.
• Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus.
