Description

Sacred Heart School in Sedalia MO has an open position for Technology Coordinator. The technology coordinator will provide technology service and support to St. Vincent de Paul Parish, including Sacred Heart School. We are looking for someone with experience in educational information technology, a passion for learning, the ability to multitask and take on additional responsibilities, and vital customer service and troubleshooting skills. This role should support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the school's mission at all times, acting as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church. The Technology Coordinator has decision-making responsibilities within essential job functions, in keeping with school policies and in consultation with the principal. The position is hired and evaluated by the principal.


Under the supervision of the Principal, the Technology Coordinator will:

  • Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters.
  • Audio/Video setups for meetings and events.
  • Provide occasional PD sessions for technology-related topics.
  • Maintains inventory and cataloging of all parish including SHS Technology, hardware, and software.
  • Maintains hardware and repair history.
  • Plans for the purchase of software and hardware.
  • Ensures software in the school is properly licensed.
  • Provide level 1 & 2 technology support to teachers, students, parents, and staff. Escalate tasks to ReSolutions as needed.
  • Provide students with technology training/internet safety, student technology use agreements, password resets, etc.
  • Co-manage all Chromebooks, iPads, laptops, and desktops: yearly refresh, cart maintenance, labels, Google Apps organization, bulk installation of programs and apps, checkout inventory, etc.
  • Manage and monitor student device filtering, quarantines, scam emails/security breaches, and device security.
  • Coordinates the maintenance, operation, management, and configuration of school computers.
  • Update and maintain all classroom technology and lab technology equipment.
  • Troubleshoots technology issues and maintains software libraries with documentation.
  • Provides faculty and staff and parish employees support and training for hardware, software, and network.
  • Supports the development of a Technology Plan with input from parish and school personnel and technology advisors for the plan to include the entire parish including a Technology Plan suited for the school.
  • Facilitates the implementation of the technology Plan.
  • Meets staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese/local administration.
  • Establishes and maintains network security.
  • Work with outside contractors on technology projects.
  • Printer and copier maintenance and updates.
  • Assist the Dean of Students, pastor and Facilities Manager with building security- cameras, doors, locks, alarm systems, etc.
  • All other related duties and tasks as assigned.


Important job functions:

  • Collaborates with peers to enhance the work environment and support instructional technology.
  • Advises the principal on technology issues and needs within the school and supports technology budget planning.
  • Complies with laws and regulations regarding the use of technology and copyrights.
  • Directs and supervises outside contracts for the repair or installation of new systems.
  • Prepares for and conducts end-of-year technology close-out procedures, summer maintenance, and the start of school preparation.
  • Assists with the planning, designing, and implementing of technology needs.

Education/Certification:

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field OR equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Experiences in technology-related position

Knowledge, abilities, and skills:

  • Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Knowledge of computer science, computer education, and technologies
  • Able to teach faculty, staff, and students in an educational setting
  • Able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
  • Able to work well with others in the school and parish community
  • Skill in handling multiple tasks simultaneously and responding to emergencies
  • Skill in organizing and relating information in an understandable format

Mental/Physical Demands:

  • Required to manage high to moderate levels of stress
  • Required to work a minimum of a full school day
  • Required to work in standard classroom, office and school conditions
  • Required to lift or carry furniture, equipment, and supplies to a minimum of 35 pounds
  • Required to maintain patience and composure, as well as avoid inappropriate displays of emotion
  • Required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, grab, pull, hear, see, and speak daily
  • Required to perform repetitive physical tasks such as computer keyboarding, writing, and reading
