Renowned for legendary customer service, our diverse resources encompass library books, reference books, eBooks, online educational databases, audio books, read-along books, and video resources for PK – 12 schools. We also offer Makerspace design and fulfillment services, along with professional learning services for libraries and classrooms. Mackin contracts with over 18,000 publishers and producers, our extensive online ordering database features over 4 million print titles and 2.5 million digital titles.
We are currently seeking a dynamic and qualified Sales Consultant to cover Kansas and Oklahoma.
Responsibilities
- Contact prospective customers in the defined geographic territory and effectively communicate Mackin’s extensive services and product lines.
- Create and design custom services to meet individual customer needs.
- Develop customer relationships, facilitate orders, and establish mutually beneficial partnerships with both new and existing customers.
- Position Mackin as an educational partner to school districts.
- Follow up on leads from various sources.
- Drive sales to achieve targeted goals.
- Responsible for revenue generation.
- Ability to market products and deliver sales results.
- Skill in identifying customer needs and presenting solutions that benefit both the customer and Mackin.
- Understanding of customer service principles and processes.
- Ability to work independently, manage a defined territory, and collaborate with multiple people and departments.
- Ability to learn, develop product knowledge, and react quickly.
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills leading to high closure rates.
- Familiarity with library practices and overall educational practices.
- Applicant must reside in Kansas or Oklahoma and have a valid driver’s license.
Education & Experience
- Knowledge of the PK-12 education industry is helpful but not mandatory
- Sales experience is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High energy and positive attitude
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Minimum 4-year college degree
Wages and Compensation
- Base Salary plus commission
- Salary range including commission: $60.000 - $130,000
