About the Role: Be the Leader in the Pool
Are you passionate about swimming and ready to inspire the next generation of swimmers? As a Swim Coach at Palma Ceia, you’ll lead practices, prepare for swim meets, and motivate our swimmers to achieve their best in and out of the water. This is more than a coaching role—it’s an opportunity to act as an ambassador, building relationships with our members and representing the club’s high standards of excellence.
What You’ll Do (Essential Duties):
- Coach swimmers of all levels during practices and at swim meets with enthusiasm and expertise.
- Organize swim meet logistics, including scheduling races, recording times, and distributing ribbons.
- Lead and coordinate swim meet volunteers, ensuring events run seamlessly.
- Build positive relationships with swimmers, members, and guests, creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Maintain an active presence at practices, swim meets, and team travel events.
- Submit incident/accident reports promptly and follow up as needed.
- Enforce all pool safety rules, regulations, and procedures consistently.
- Attend staff meetings and in-service training to stay sharp and up-to-date.
- Take on additional related duties as assigned by management.
Bring Your Skills to the Surface (Physical Demands):
- Stand, walk, and remain actively engaged for extended periods.
- Stay alert with unwavering focus, scanning for safety at all times.
- Lift and move equipment or assist swimmers, with frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Adapt to outdoor weather conditions—whether under sunny skies or breezy poolside mornings.
- Demonstrate agility, stamina, and a passion for being active and on the go.
What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications):
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- One year of experience as a swim instructor or coach.
- Current certifications in CPR/AED and First Aid (through a state or nationally accredited program).
Preferred Splash (Preferred Qualifications):
- A competitive swimming background or swim coaching certification (through a state or nationally accredited program).
