Description

Ascend partners with Highland Rivers Behavioral Health, Georgia’s largest Community Service Board (CSB), to staff clinical and non-clinical jobs in behavioral health. Being part of our team and working in a CSB means you’re helping individuals and families otherwise unable to access treatment from private providers to address healthcare challenges associated with mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and addictive diseases. You’ll be working with purpose to make a difference in the lives of people who need you most. Each of our jobs will work within a State Community Service Board facility. 

The RN will be working in a Mental Health/ Substance Abuse environment. RN will provide direct service to individuals, such as clinical nursing assessments, labs, injections, and medication management training. 


Job Description:    

     

  • Assess individuals with health problems of mental health/substance use challenges and needs with completion of nursing assessments and development of nursing care plans
  • Completes RPR, TB and Hep C testing for individuals attending the program.
  • Monitors, records and reports symptoms and changes in conditions by observation using proper nursing care
  • Provides education to individuals, staff and family.
  •  Attends case staffing/treatment team meetings as directed by supervisor.
  • Intervenes, stabilizes and manages acute crisis situations as needed.
  • Assists in training co-staff in areas relating to service specialties as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality for all indirect/direct service in accordance with agency policies and HIPAA policies.
  • Maintains stock of supplies
  • Other responsibilities and tasks as may be assigned.
  • Completes all necessary documentation according to policy and procedure
  •  Provides assistance and support in crisis situations.

Requirements

Job Requirements: 

  • Licensed as a RN in the state of GA. 
  • 1 to 2  years experience in  mental health or substance use disorders  
  • Computer, organizational and teaching skills. 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.   
  • Must be able to pass background investigation, drug screen and have good 7yr. motor vehicle report.
