Description

Under general supervision of Senior Digital Media Services Manager, oversees the technical services aspects of the facilities’ events and equipment.

Requirements

  • Evaluate and organize staffing needs, time allotment and material/equipment required for events and day-to-day operations of facilities electrical and Audio-Visual needs.
  • Manage the priorities of event coordination: hanging soft goods, electrical, sound, supplemental rental equipment and building modification.
  • Collaborate with technical services team in each building to provide support for the events and to ensure completion of tasks and desired effects throughout load-ins, rehearsals, shows, and loadouts.
  • Monitor and approve all connections to the buildings electrical systems as required for the stage and efficient operation of the facilities.
  • Address equipment irregularities, discrepancies, damages/loss of property or any other equipment and safety concerns. 
  • Analyze contractual commitments, customer satisfaction, design changes, and other data.
  • Develop and implement plan of action and resolve problems as they arise. 
  • Oversee and maintain building lighting, sound, and audio-visual systems and equipment.
  • Manage staff recruitment, disciplinary actions, and promotions for the departments’ full-time and part-time staff.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings. Develop and maintain a harmonious working relationship with all other departments.
  • All other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

Skills and Abilities

Position requires the ability to:

  • Possess knowledge and experience in industry terminology, event-related services, facility capabilities and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facilities. Possess an understanding of facilities’ electrical, mechanical, and other systems.
  • Advanced operation of a personal computer using Windows and Microsoft Office software
  • Follow all laws, codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules/regulations, and emergency procedures.
  • Possess any licenses, certificates or training required by local, state, or national authorities for the operation of the equipment found in the facilities.
  • Read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, and other related materials.
  • Meet the physical demands of the job, which include being able to get in and around the facilities (requires personal mobility) and working from various heights.  Must perform strenuous physical duties at times, including lifting, carrying, moving, and climbing.
  • Be able to withstand moderate to loud noises.
  • Operate equipment such as light trucks, Gator, pallet jacks, carts fire extinguishers or other light power-driven equipment.
  • Operate a personal computer using Windows and Microsoft Office software.
  • Operate portable radio and standard office equipment.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with other in both oral and written form.
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
  • Work as a team member as well as independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, guests, employees, and others encountered in the course of employment.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to legally operate a motor vehicle in the state
  • of Georgia.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two years related experience

and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
