Summary: The Data Strategy Analyst is responsible for managing data retrieval and analysis across the enterprise. Duties include translation of data, design/measurement of experiments and generation of insights to inform business decisions by using various data mining techniques, organizing data points, communicating across teams and analyzing data to determine organizational needs, create value propositions, and support actionable business intelligence recommendations and solutions. 


Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes:

  • Assesses market strategies by analyzing related products, markets, or trends.
  • Lead conversations with leadership and across organization teams and effectively communicate with all stakeholders to provide solutions based on an understanding of impacts / intersections with other business partners and lines of business.
  • Develop new enterprise business intelligence (BI) service offerings, content creation, and value propositions to support and improve enterprise-wide business processes.
  • Provide ongoing development and maintenance of a BI architecture that enables fact-based decision making and ad-hoc analysis and insight generation.
  • Provide interactive real-time dashboards and key performance indicators using Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services, Tableau, Sisense, SAP Crystal Reports, IBM Cognos, Qlik, or newly identified BI tools.
  • Collaborate with end users to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery.
  • Provide ongoing development and maintenance of an operational data store and enterprise data warehouse using BI best practices, relational structures, dimensional data modeling, structured query language skills, data warehouse and reporting techniques.
  • Improve and streamline processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, viability and value.
  • Provide end-user support and encourage user adoption; support for end-users of BI tools; train end-users on basic functionality.
  • Under general direction, responsible for converting business requirements and high-level data collection needs into well-specified analyses, reporting and visualizations.
  • Gathers BI requirements, designs solutions, and works with developers on their delivery. Utilizes selected platforms, including SQL Server, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Power BI, and SSRS, to successfully deploy business intelligence solutions to satisfy information requirements.
  • Partner with key business areas to listen and translate business needs into high-level technical specifications; design and develop recommended systems and consult with ITS leadership to ensure smooth and inclusive implementation.
  • Work with the ITS team to review and assess new requests      identified by ITS and/or requested by business area(s) for feasibility, cost-effectiveness, conflicting business area needs, and business benefit.      
  • Fully document all technical aspects of applications developed for the organization to ensure sufficient information exists to support ongoing maintenance by others.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.
Requirements

  

Essential Qualifications, Credentials, and Technical Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology/computer science, business or related field. Will consider extensive relevant experience in lieu of a degree as well. 
  • Minimum of five years business analyst experience 
  • Minimum three years application development experience in a Windows/Microsoft-based environment (including Microsoft Visual Basic, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams).
  • Experience using common BI tools, including Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services, Tableau, Sisense, SAP Crystal Reports, IBM Cognos, Qlik, etc.
  • Experience working in a Microsoft SharePoint environment
  • Must have high-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum three years of experience Interpreting and writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures and integration packages using SSIS (SQL Service Integration Services).
  • Experience using Microsoft Teams to manage projects, files, and communications throughout the organization.
  • Demonstrated customer-focused work style.
  • High level of organizational skills, attention to detail, and good judgment in anticipating and resolving issues.
  • Ability to prioritize and self-manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with a diverse group of individuals, internal and external to the organization.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information.

Additional Qualifications, Credentials and Technical Skills preferred:

  • Microsoft Certification in Access, Visual Basic, MS Word, MS Excel and Windows Architecture.
  • Advanced knowledge of various development and reporting tools such as Microsoft .Net Studio, Visual Basic, Crystal Reports, MS Power BI, MS Power Apps, and Qlikview.
  • Experience developing workflows with tools such as MS Power Automate and Hyland OnBase studio.
  • Experience with administration and customization of Salesforce Non-profit Success Pack, CRM and Marketing Cloud.
  • Experience with communications software, including file transfer scripting, encryption, and authentication methods.
  • Experience with Salesforce data integration using Kingswaysoft ETL tool.

PAY AND BENEFITS: 

  

Based on the foundation's compensation program, the estimated annual salary for this position may be anywhere based between $80,000 – $100,000 with some flexibility, based on the academic, professional, and community experiences and credentials of a candidate.
