Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis

Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis provides financial support and analysis to Development Teams, Senior Management, and the Executive Management. This individual must forge tight partnerships between Finance & Accounting and the rest of the Company by providing insightful analysis and recommendations that can be used to better manage the business. The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis owns the annual budget process, multi-year business plan updates and KPIs. Other key areas of support reporting of actual vs. budget results, development spend, and presentation to both external third parties and the Company’s Senior Leadership is critical to this role.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Own the overall budgeting and forecasting process, including project budgets, long range business plan, development budget, corporate overhead, and corporate valuation model.
  • Manage and lead the implementation of planning software for corporate valuation and maintenance of corporate model. 
  • Manage system integrations for topics related to business unit set up, company set up and chart of accounts across multiple existing and future systems for consistent reporting. 
  • Identify and drive business process improvements.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of actual financial performance to provide feedback to management, establish value drivers, and explain discrepancies from targeted performance.  
  • Provide any ad hoc reports and analysis to Senior Leadership as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation and/or review of the Month / Quarter / YTD financial reporting requirements.
  • Manage compliance of any investor financial reporting requirement related to FP&A. 
  • Field internal and external audit requests related to FP&A. 
  • Maintain and update intercompany agreements and allocation rate schedules which establish corporate services to projects and subsidiaries, while managing similar agreements with third party service providers. 
  • Monitor third party agreement to ensure accurate allocation and billing of services.   
  • Create and manage weekly cash planning for the company while coordinating with Accounting and Treasury on capital call to investors.
  • Coordinate updates of project status and spending with development and construction teams. 
  • Develop templates to be used for financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Coordinate with Accounting on monthly project development costs and development service agreement accruals to ensure accurate reporting of financial performance.
  • Provide project development budgeting oversight for various special projects.
  • Participate in cross-functional business projects and analysis including supporting Finance & Capital markets team with tax equity and financial closes as well as supporting in analysis required for issuance of project specific LCs.
  • Assist in the interpretation and implementation of Accounting, Finance, and Treasury policies.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance;
  • MBA preferred.
  • CPA or CFA preferred.

Required Experience

  • 5-7+ years comparable finance and accounting experience within Renewable Energy/Oil & Gas and/or public accounting involving the auditing of smaller, high-growth businesses.
  • Must have experienced, working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills required.
  • Experience with Financial Modeling and Budgeting Systems.
  • Skilled in preparing presentation materials to Senior Management.
