Description

Position Title: Associate Medical Writer

I. Position Overview

Associate Medical Writers provide clinically and scientifically accurate insight in the development of promotional medical education content for peer-to-peer communications.

II. Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities

  •  Demonstrate great attention to detail and an ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment
  •  Support the project team on multiple brand projects under senior medical leadership, ensuring that customer service, quality, and timelines are met
  •  Write and annotate promotional medical education content for peer-to-peer programs
  •  Support promotional claims with current and appropriate product and clinical literature
  •  Prepare references and annotations of all content for internal fact-checkers and client medical/regulatory/legal review
  •  Work with senior medical staff on all accounts to provide clinical and scientific insight
  •  Assist in the development of content for advisory boards including generation of post meeting summaries
  •  Develop and assure scientific accuracy of manuscripts for publication and educational materials for healthcare professionals, patients, and pharmaceutical sales representatives
  •  Collaborate with Program Directors to ensure that written materials meet Client's strategic specifications
  •  Keep informed of new products, services, and other general information of interest to clients
  •  Execute all aspects of administrative responsibilities (weekly timesheets, weekly status updates, maintenance of a calendar in Outlook, etc.) in appropriately detailed and timely manner
  •  Perform other duties and assignments as directed

Education: Advanced degree

Requirements:

  •  Excellent oral and written communication skills
  •  Ability to conduct literature searches and web searches, and seek necessary scientific and clinical information in order to competently develop content for programs
  •  Strong ability to analyze clinical and scientific data, disease-specific information, competitive information, and market trends
  •  Team player
  •  Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
  •  High proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and reference manager software (ie, EndNote)

Additional Requirements: Travel may be required


 Competitive salary commensurate with experience and location, ranging from $80,000 to $90,000 annually.
