Status:  Full-time (40 hours/week), hybrid

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Lawrence/Methuen Community Coalition (LMCC) seeks a Community Recovery Services Navigator to assist families to work through the health care system with regard to addiction. To function as part of a multi-discipline team to build capacity of residents to access addiction related health care services. 


DUTIES INCLUDE  

· The Community Recovery Services Navigator will work closely with the members of Lawrence Coalition team and other community partners to assist with providing resources for individuals seeking recovery. 

· Provide active drug users with an environment where trusting relationships can be established and maintained in an effort to navigate to treatment at a time when they are ready.

· Enlist family members and other members of the target participant’s support networks to be part of the recovery solution as well as to receive support and guidance in navigating treatment options.

· Assist engaged individuals to appropriate support services and resources (i.e. mental health, housing, welfare, job training, GED, ESL, etc.)

· Engage participants in trauma informed strategies.

· Engaging target participants in recovery support.

· Assist with development of parenting supports and curriculum

· Assist with recovery support groups where necessary

· Refer engaged individuals to treatment as needed with continued follow-up to ensure individuals are continuing with treatment.

· Reduce or eliminate barriers to services by providing or coordinating engaged individual’s transportation and emotional support.

· Establish working relationships with institutions and organizations where target populations are being served.

· Enter participant information into an established database.


OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Community Recovery Services Navigator shall work in conjunction with community partners and support the shift for day-to-day operations purposes to the Lawrence Police Department. The LMCC Director shall determine the day-to-day duties of the Community Navigator. The LMCC Program in conjunction with the Leaps and Bounds Admin team shall provide the Community Navigator with all necessary administrative support, for the effective accomplishment of their day-to-day duties and responsibilities.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

· Have a minimum of 2 years of working with individuals seeking substance use and or mental health recovery and the criminal justice system. 

· A bachelor’s or associate’s degree is preferred although candidates with 2 years of relevant experience should be considered. 

· Knowledge of the Lawrence Community and resources.

· Understand how to engage individuals that are actively using and seeking recovery. 

· Building relationships with treatment providers and other health and human services is critical. 

· The Community Recovery Services Navigator is proficient (verbal and reading) in English and Spanish, preferred.

· The Community Recovery Services Navigator must have experience working with individuals and families with addictions and in recovery.

· They should also have knowledge of all treatment modalities for all substance use disorders, and Mental health diagnosis.

· The Community Recovery Services Navigator  should be a motivated, service-oriented individual with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as needed, participate in community outreach events, participates in trainings related to program activities, perform other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • This is a full-time 40-hour per week position with an hourly rate range of $20/hour to $24/per hour commensurate upon education and/or experience. 
  • This position may be hybrid with up to 25% of work completed remotely, so long as the needs of the program allow.
