Roles and Responsibilities

The Treatment Coordinator’s (TC) primary responsibility is to clearly explain the treatment options and related financial responsibility to the patient. The TC acts as a liaison between the doctor and the patient and is tasked with gathering information in the new patient experience, in addition to coordinating a treatment plan and effectively presenting it to the patient.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain optimization of doctor’s schedule
  • Knowledgeable about the treatment and timelines, and they are prepared to negotiate financial arrangements with the clients to maximize adoption rate
  • Present and complete treatment plans and ensure appropriate documentation and system records completion
  • Calculate and collect copays accordingly; responsible for some internal accounting duties that support the practice’s goals for profitability.
  • Call insurance to verify patient benefits ensuring completing of all benefit requirements and collection accuracy
  • Maintain 95% appointment confirmation
  • Attend to incoming calls and maintain callback
  • Provide a calming environment to care for patients concerns about treatment and affordability
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Employed with webster at least 180 days.
  • Clinical background/insurance experience a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of dentistry and ability to describe procedures in simple language
  • Superb interpersonal skills and friendly customer service skills
  • Self-directed and motivated individual with proficient Influencing/negotiation skills
  • Proficient in basic computer applications with the ability to learn new software
  • Demonstrate ability to perform basic arithmetic to understand general ledger and insurance benefits
  • Familiarity with ADA codes
  • Ability to function within a team
