Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler to join our team. The Surgery Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures for our General Surgery patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to multitask, and have a strong attention to detail. 


Responsibilities:

- Schedule surgical procedures for patients, ensuring that all necessary information is obtained and communicated to the appropriate parties including but not limited to education to patients regarding upcoming procedures, contacting operating rooms to schedule procedures

-Schedule coordinating labs or radiologic studies when indicated.

-Schedule pre-admission surgical appointments as necessary

- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that all necessary resources are available for each procedure

- Communicate with patients to provide information about their scheduled procedures and answer any questions they may have

- Maintain accurate records of scheduled procedures and patient information

- Ensure that all necessary paperwork and documentation is completed and filed appropriately

- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure that patient care is coordinated and efficient


This position is full-time.  Monday through Friday.  No weekends or holidays.  No call. Great work-life balance.

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent required

- Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in surgery scheduling or a related field

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work well with others

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures preferred
