What You Will Do:
As the Application Engineer, Vacuum, you will provide support to our sales representatives, production team, suppliers and customers by providing in-depth response to commercial and technical inquiries, preparing quotations and technical proposals, and providing application and product training as it relates to Vooner’s vacuum pump product offering. While this role can be done remotely, the successful candidate must be able to travel to the plant in Greenville, TN, to personally work with all departments. As well, there will be travel to key customer sites / distribution centers / meet with OEMs. Overall, travel will be approximately 20%. Additionally, you will:
- Lead specification and plan development for packaged systems. Ensure that Vooner products and accessories are fully integrated and special features capitalized upon in the specification.
- Effectively run customer projects from a remote location via Teams or Zoom. Must be able to clearly capture customer needs and establish a clean, detailed specification, then close the quote with the assistance of the sales team.
- Assist sales and sales representatives with application and product training as required. Prepare sales forecasts and other management reports as needed.
- Be a source of knowledge regarding industry news, trends, products, services, competitors, technologies, and new developments. Develop case studies that highlight Vooner products advantages.
Who We Are:
Vooner, a member of the Aerzen Group, has over 31 years of experience with corrosion and erosion-resistant vacuum pump applications, including patented vacuum pump designs and vacuum system engineering capabilities. Additionally, Vooner is an OEM for complete vacuum systems for slurry dewatering, evaporation, pneumatic conveying, condenser exhauster, and felt cleaning in paper mills generating aftermarket business of actuators and sales opportunities for long term low-cost vacuum pumps.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or technical school); Field of Study - Mechanical Engineering or Science is preferred. Thermal Engineering Major or Concentration of study HIGHLY DESIRED
Experience: 8-10 years of vacuum pump application engineering experience. Preferably single-stage and two-stage liquid ring designs. Solid understanding of Wet VS Dry Vacuum Pumps and their related applications. Solid knowledge in Paper, Food, Plastics and Chemical industry is a plus.
Computer Skills: Able to create, use, navigate and generate reports at an Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft office applications. Able to navigate effectively ERP systems such as SAP, Sage, Navision. Knowledge of CRM systems such as Salesforce is a plus.
