Core Competencies


Defining Wellness Centers has a need for a Maintenance Tech.  This is a full-time, M-F 8am to 4:30pm, position.  This position requires basic experience working in a Maintenance position and experience with equipment repair, construction, electrical, and plumbing are helpful for this position.  HVAC experience is also helpful, but not required.  Ability to work as scheduled and a good work ethic is required with this position.

Position Specific Competencies

Skills

- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and be ambulatory without assistance

- Must be reliable 

- Creative problem-solving skills

- Ability to take direction and follow instructions


Knowledge

- Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems

- Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools

- Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings

- Basic knowledge of construction and building skills, as well as tools used for basic construction work


Duties and Responsibilities

- Utilizes proper safety procedures

- Attend on-going meetings and trainings

- Utilizes and abides by Universal Precautions and uses Personal Protective Equipment, i.e. gloves when dealing with a potentially contaminated item or person

- Maintains appearance of facility in accordance with MS State Regulations and Defining Wellness standards

- Handles repair work as able or contacts supervisor for contracting outside sources

- Performs other duties as assigned. 


Requirements

Education

- High School Degree, or equivalent


Experience

- Minimum of one year experience in maintenance or similar position

- If self identifying as in recovery, must have a minimum of six months of sustained recovery


Licensure/registration/certification

- Valid driver’s license


Salary Description
$18 per hour and up depending on experience
