Job Summary: 

As a Cosmetic Surgery Scrub Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of cosmetic surgical procedures. Your responsibilities will include preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, assisting surgeon during procedures, and maintaining a sterile environment throughout the surgery. Your attention to detail, knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures, and commitment to patient safety will contribute to the success of each surgery and overall patient satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Prepare the operating room for cosmetic surgery procedures according to established protocols and guidelines.

2. Sterilize surgical instruments and equipment using autoclaves and other sterilization techniques.

3. Assist surgeon during cosmetic surgeries by passing instruments, holding retractors, and providing other necessary support.

4. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures and proactively assist as required.

5. Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgery by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.

6. Handle specimens collected during surgery according to established procedures, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.

7. Assist with patient positioning and draping before surgery and ensure proper positioning of equipment and supplies in the operating room.

8. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of surgical supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock for procedures.

9. Collaborate with other members of the surgical team, including surgeon, nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists, to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.

10. Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to minimize risks and ensure the safety of patients and staff.

11. Participate in continuing education and training to stay updated on advancements in surgical techniques, equipment, and safety practices.

12. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of job performance. 

Requirements

  

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a surgical technology program preferred.

2. Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) preferred.

3. Previous experience working as a surgical technologist or scrub technician in a cosmetic surgery setting highly desirable.

4. Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and procedures related to cosmetic surgery.

5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with members of the surgical team.

6. Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-pressure situations.

7. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a sterile environment in the operating room.

8. Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and assist with patient positioning as needed.

9. Understanding of infection control protocols and a commitment to following established safety guidelines.

10. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

· 1+ years of experience.

EDUCATION:

· High school diploma, GED or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods standing.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
