River Region Psychiatry Associates is a well-established and expanding private practice with outpatient offices across the Southeast, is seeking a dedicated and qualified Licensed Psychologist or Clinical Neuropsychologist for an immediate opening Birmingham, working both in and outpatient. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with adult, geriatric, and child populations, providing comprehensive psychological services in both outpatient and potential hospital settings.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and neuropsychological testing for adult, geriatric, and child populations.
- Conduct traditional outpatient therapy visits.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, therapists, and medical professionals.
- Provide treatment recommendations to support diagnoses, treatment planning, and patient placement.
- Independently manage therapy and assessment cases, working closely with referring healthcare professionals.
- Supervise psychometrists and psychology students (if applicable).
- Potential for growth and development of outpatient therapy and assessment practice in the Birmingham area.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree from an APA or CPA accredited program in clinical psychology or clinical neuropsychology.
- Completion of a one-year APA or CPA accredited internship for clinical psychologists; a two-year post-doctoral program for clinical neuropsychologists.
- Licensed or license-eligible in AL, licensed in AL by the starting date, and in good standing with the Alabama Board of Examiners in Psychology or equivalent state boards.
- Clinical neuropsychologist applicants must be certified by ABCN or eligible for certification by ABCN.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Full-time availability for both outpatient and potential inpatient settings.
- Experience in hospital and outpatient settings.
- Knowledge and experience in mood disorder treatment and assessment.
- Familiarity with assessments of capacity for independent living.
- Experience with personality, performance, and symptom validity testing (MMPI-2, MMPI-2-RF, PAI, TOMM, WMT).

Education
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology or related field from an accredited institution.
Experience
- Specialized training, expertise, or certification in psychological assessment and testing.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations, interpreting assessment results, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
License
- Licensed or license eligible as a psychologist in the state of practice.
