A key part of our practice is focused on incorporating best practices and innovating state-of-the-art public safety design for police, fire, EMS, and 911 facilities. We are offering an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Project Manager on the path to becoming Principal or a current seasoned Principal to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to lead groundbreaking projects, impact communities and clients, and steer innovation and business development.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and manage multiple on-going projects as Project Manager or Principal for the Civic, Justice, & Public Safety studio including Police, Fire, DPW, Town Halls, Library, Community Centers, and other Civic and Municipal facilities projects
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise in atleast one of the following core Civic, Justice. Public Safety Studio practice areas: Police, Fire, Combined Public Safety facilities, 911/Dispatch/EMS, Justice, Town Halls, and Libraries
  • Manage the client relationship and project success, as measured in client satisfaction, work quality, team professionalism and collaboration, and project profitability
  • Manage all phases of projects including budgeting, scheduling, planning, design, construction documents and construction administration services
  • Prepare and negotiate client and consultant proposals, fees, schedules, and contracts
  • Initiate, document, and maintain project set-up, including contract review, project process and filing procedures, and work authorizations
  • Oversee client and project team communication, ensuring timely resolution of client concerns and management of business issues including contracts and additional services
  • Oversee scheduling and documentation of regular client, team, and consultant meetings
  • Define, monitor, and maintain control of the scope of work and services for projects
  • Oversee the integration of design and technical aspects - ensure clear and timely communication of information to the project team, in alignment with the project team’s goals 
  • Manage project staffing resources 
  • Manage risk and minimize liability by monitoring and resolving client concerns
  • Oversee the orderly close out of projects including contractual requirements
  • Build long lasting, trustworthy partnerships with clients
  • Train and mentor junior staff
  • Drive business development by participating in regular business development meetings, conferences and events, and following up on assigned activities
  • Lead individual pursuits and participate in developing responses to RFQ/P’s
  • Technically write for marketing and business development purposes, leveraging, maintaining, and developing your professional network of contacts
  • Develop your professional goals and thought leadership in alignment with the long-term vision of the Firm

What You Bring 

  • Professional degree in Architecture (Bachelor’s or Master’s) Required
  • 10+ years of experience in Civic, Justice, and Public Safety Required
  • Active MA MCPPO certification 
  • Licensed Architect Required 
  • Must have MA DCAMM project experience and proven MA M.G.L Chapter 149 and 149a experience on Civic and Municipal Projects
  • You’re passionate about civic architecture, leading teams and take pride in fulfilling both client and project obligations to contribute to the broader success of the firm
  • A successful track record in a similar role on applicable Civic and Municipal projects in the $5M to $50M+ range in New England
  • Must be willing to travel to project and office locations as needed
